I've decided to try Skullcap and Valerian on Roxy for this years fireworks, as well as taking her outside with treats to try and desensitise her. Last year, ignoring her and carrying on as normal didn't work, and I don't think it'll work this year either.
I've ordered them from Dorwest Herbs:

let us know how she gets on with it Nicola.
I think taking them outside is a good idea. It works with Diesel, in the house he will bark himself senseless when fireworks go off but if you take him outside he sits and watches and hardly makes a sound! A couple of years ago neighbours had a party with a huge amount of large fireworks going off. John took Diesel and Murphy out a walk right past their garden where they were being set off and neither of them barked at all, in fact they hardly bothered! |

Will do, Marcella. I know taking her outside won't do her any physical harm, and I hope it will help her overcome her mental issues she has with fireworks and hopefully learn that they are not going to harm her. |

Mandy is terrified enough if she is in the house. If she hears a firework when she is outside she gets into an absolutely dreadful tizzy!.
Jodie will happily stand in the garden and watch the rockets - she loves them. _________________ "My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet" - Edith Wharton |

I am going to try dorwest herbal this year with Basil. It was recommended by Trish who has used it successfully with her Newfies. Hopefully acting calm - me that is will help.
Maybe Misty will be outside in the garden again enjoying them as usual. _________________ Regards,

I have ordered them for Mandy.
I take Valerian myself as I have trouble sleeping. It has certainly helped me. _________________ "My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet" - Edith Wharton |

Roxy's Skullcap and Valerian tablets came today.
I'm trying to decided whether to start her on them now, one tablet a day, perhaps.
I heard 2 bangers earlier, I was outside at the time, Roxy was inside and didn't hear them. |
