Well I was planning on being completely unimaginative and naming her that ... but think we've settled on Holly. She seems to suit that name. I had a million name ideas and none seemed to suit!

So I'm not even sure when I will get to come to classes. When do you suggest is best to start coming all? She's 11 weeks just now, will be 13 wks when I get her home. She's a tiny little pup.... scared she'll be squashed!! Shocked Laughing

Hi Ashley,

Before starting the Cumbernauld Training Club, just yesterday with Rufus, I took him to the Puppy School classes, which are separate, and which Eleanor on this site runs. They were great, as they are not just about the training, but the puppies get to play and get socialisation practice with kids, adults, and even people dressed as wicked witches!! It has been a good base for him, as he can do sit/down/stay now, but struggles still with walk to heel and 'stand up', so I didn't feel too out of my depth last night!

Thanks Susan,
That may be a good idea. What age was Rufus when you started going to those? I dont want to leave it too long that bad habits begin with.. Holly??? (still not sure if i'm convinced on the name... darn!).

awwwww! bless!

Congratualtions.

You will need to get some snaps online so we can see her asap - we can't be waiting until she is old enough for classes!

Very Happy

Ashley, she can come to training just as soon as she's had all her jabs! Very Happy We have puppies from 12 weeks old that attend the training classes and none have been squashed!!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

The best possible start you can give a puppy is to immediately get it socialised, whether that be at the training classes, out walking with other dogs and people or standing with her outside the supermarket! (this works wonders!!!!).

Oh, and remember to post some pics when you get her! Smile

She's just gorgeous - a little love!

Don't worry about starting her - I didn't begin until recently when Mandy was 7, not that I'm suggesting you wait quite that long!! (I couldn't find anywhere else to go)! She's taking a bit longer to get the hang of some things, but she's coming on (I think)!
