Jake is OK, the pain killers are helping and not! He seems harder to control as he obviously thinks his leg is getting better but its just the pain killers. He has the vet tomorrow for a check up but his appointment with the specialist isn't till 27th December. I spoke with him today and he says Jake is to young for the kind of op he thinks he might need. He would only op on him if he was between 8 -12 months, he is only 5 months just now
We will know more after the 27th. Just have to wait and see i'm afraid. _________________ Dogs are like Chocolate, you just can't have one! |

Oh Fiona, that wait will seem like ages. Just keep hoping. At least he's in good spirits by the sounds of things. |

Aye, I could believe that! He's still a big, bouncing pup, he's bound to want to jump around like a nutter if he feels he's not in as much pain and it's frustrating that you can't actually tell them the reasons why they have to calm down a bit!! |

I'm actually lucky, he is a pretty laid back big guy, can't imagine what it would be like with a overly active dog
He has his moments when you can see in his face he is just waiting for the crate door to open so he can go nuts, when I see his "crazy" face I go and get the leash just to take him out the crate
He is missing his walks with Libby and Star. I have to walk Jake alone and its basically 2 mins there 2 mins back twice a day on the lead _________________ Dogs are like Chocolate, you just can't have one! |

Fiona it must be so hard for all of you - Jake is so gorgeous and I agree pretty laid back for his tender age - positive vibes sent your way as ever - the wait must seem forever. _________________ No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversation as the dog does - Christopher Morley |

Hi Fiona
sorry to hear Jake will have to be rested a bit longer, it's hard but will be worth it in the long run I'm sure
Let us know if you see an improvement with the magnets.
Fingers crossed

Fiona, sorry to hear he is going to be restricted for a while. Being laid back should help. Been there with my beagles. The dogs seem to worry about it less than we do.
Thinking about you guys. Take care. _________________ Regards,

Well the specialist has had a look at Jake's x ray's and he sees nothing wrong with his joint at all. He wants me to start working Jake up to normal walks and exercises over the next few weeks and then give him a call. He thinks its either been a sprain or growing pains but its def not OCD. If he shows no sign of lameness between now and his appointment we haven't to take him.
Jake will be happy _________________ Dogs are like Chocolate, you just can't have one! |
