Shirley
It was originally seen as a quality for a JRT to make a lot of noise as they where originally for 'worrying' the fox out of a hole so that the hunt could carry on, rather than actually facing and fighting with it. It also meant you new where your dog was as you could hear it making a lot of noise.
My previous JRT's made a hell of a noise when chasing anything and always came back when called on, however Tess is quiet by comparison and comes back when SHE'S ready. _________________ Parsons Russell fanatic |

Im glad I have the silent hunters
we really dont have that worry of noisy dogs.....except last year when house across from us used to leave their boxer out all day and my dogs could see it running around their garden, dont know what happened to the dog, died about 1 yr 1/2 old but I see recently they have a new boxer puppy why cant they just be responsible, hope they look after this one better.
Allan was telling me about JRTs with foxes today, i knew they were earth dogs but never really thought about what they did _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen
