Ok so Tilly is still barking like a mad thing, she has the spray collar which she has now figured out, she can tell when it's on and when she is free to bark, so that hasn't worked.

We shout no, we make loud noises, we distract her with toys and we are pretty much getting to the end of the rope. She has got a tiny bit better but its been weeks and progress is very very very slow.

We now have my brothers rabbits staying with us while him and the wife are away on holiday which is just aggravating her more since there are tasty smelling things intruding in her garden.

Can anyone recommend another way to kick this out of her. Is it her? or is it us and our attitude?

I'm up for every suggestion possible now, she needs to stop and she needs to stop now!

Thanks in advance and hopefully this will be my last barking post, fingers crossed.

buy a few cheap plastic waterguns... fill em up and leave them to hand at key points around the house... then when she starts, just squirt her and tell her no!

maybe keep some livercake to hand too... as soon as you squirt her and she stops barking, call her over and try and do a few sits and downs with her, and treat her.

only other command I am trying is 'thankyou' for when the door goes, he barks and I want him to stop (i like him to bark at the door but it would help if he shut up once I opened it!) this is still a work in progress tho!

good luck!

I use the water gun in the house when they bark and jump at the TV and it works, outside if I'm washing the car and they are out and barking I use the hose it works a treat but they figure it out and realise that if it's not out they can bark. To be very honest she is s Terrier and this is something she may not stop regardless of how much you do, the best thing with my two who are terrible barkers anything that passes and I mean anything a bird a worm a human or dog they go nuts, the only time they are quite is when the sun is out and they are tired out from a really long walk or play or training. Try getting the ball and playing fetch then maybe doing some stuff you do in class to get her physically and mentaly tired? Unfortunatley Terriers are wee barky beggars Mad

Anna, what Lindy says is right tho... it is in their nature to be yappy wee nyaffs to some extent... Leon still barks at folk when they first come into the house, despite my best efforts! (as Stuart can testify!)

least it might discourage burglars! Wink
