Allan you are correct all Males must have 2 fully descended testicles to show for all breeds only if there is a valid health reason life threatening for the chop are you allowed to show. The judge has a grope at them when they look over dog. This is why Bear isn't done and is also his favorite part of show.

Grace, we got Otto neutered because we thought it would be better for him healthwise and also we had no intention of showing or breeding. I also thought it would stop any trailing after dem bitches.

I didn't anticipate any change in his behaviour...and there wasn't much change. He did stop humping, but he still scent marks, still acts like a male dog.

He barks at people who come to the house or even a mouse, and last week snapped at someone when they tried to clap him (although the guy was a bit wired to the moon).

He barks because he's guarding the property and his breed will do that, so I just thank him then tell him to lie down, and if he won't, he is put there. and he's now getting it - the bark isn't agressive as he's very friendly to people once they're in.

As for the snapping, it took me by surprise as he's usually so good natured, and I am now a bit apprehensive about it, but I think it's because he's rarely on the lead outwith our local area which he's confident in, he's usually in areas where he can run about and he totally ignores people. So I am working on that (any tips gratefully received).

But I think these are training and socialisation issues rather than testosterone. It calms them down a bit, but every dog is different...I have not regrets about it.
