Tilly has been sneezing an awful lot lately and I'm wondering if dogs (especially westies) can get hay fever?
She was already treated for kennel cough before going into the Kennels a few months back and the sneezing has only
started recently. Just wondering about allergies that she could maybe be suffering from, maybe she's just sniffing the
ground too hard

White westies are apparently really prone to allergies. Think that might have been on that Pedigree Dogs Exposed programme, either that or I was reading it elsewhere. It atopic dermatitis which is just being overly sensitive to things in the environment. So it could be anything making her sneeze. Just like we get hay fever etc! _________________ Ashley with Holly & Murphy.

has there been any grass cut near you.
the Kennel cough vaccine only covers one strain(there are like 7 different ones just like the human cold) but i dont think its that as i don't think they sneeze it really just a cough.
Inca went through a sneeze stage, but it was mainly when she got over excited. is it anything like that or is it just random, does it happen more outside or inside, if inside do you have incense or scented candles about, or the plug in air fresheners. i think they can all affect your dog. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

More inside than out but no scented candles or anything, we have one of those air freshener things that skoosh every 30minutes but we have had it since before she was here and its only just started _________________

My girls sneeze for fun if certain scents are used throughout the house, cinammon is the worst offender. Have you recently changed fragrances? Even if the same brand dogs can be more sensitive to certain ingredients than others, just a thought. _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

that was my next question, or have you changed any cleaning product you use in the house. does it happen more in a particular room in the house. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

It's just a thought, that's what made my girls bad - they also sneeze for fun when the oven is on for a long time or if we do toast "well done"
Certain perfumes and aftershave on people can set them off too, frankly I think they are just attention seeking little madams _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |
