Our combi boiler pump is noisy and air is hissing out of the 'auto air vent' after the how water tap is used (but not during). I think it is a problem with the pump, or just an air lock.. but in any case..

I need a repair-man asap!!!

Recommendations, please!!

OK, I think the pump is knackered.. it is making a loud whirring noise.

Was looking at British Gas' fixed price offer.. £168 for parts / labour / callout.. anyone have any experience of this?

Nope no idea, at the moment we are on coal and dont have anything as sophisticated as a combi boiler Rolling Eyes no idea of any repair men.
I think the BG offer seems ok tho as I know anything needs fixed with these darn units it is expensive Rolling Eyes

I would generally avoid scottish or british gas as their prices are high
we use FEP in cumbernauld road but not sure if they have an emergency service for non customers. if it needs replaced, they are worth getting a quote from. not the cheapest but very reliable. I would look for an ad in cumbernauld news or similar for a self employed guy rather than big company
