Cuthbert is increasingly becoming a pain in the neck at times.
When we go out in the car, sometimes he refuses to get in until Martin actually yells at him, Cuthbert just wants to sit and watch the world go by from OUTSIDE the car. He's not in pain, scared or unwell, he just prefers to do his own thing.
When we get in the car, sometimes within literally a couple of miles he starts to whine, and it gets increasingly louder and more frequent if he's ignored, he has done all necessary toilet etc before getting in and if we stop to take him out just in case, he doesn't do anything except enjoy being out!
Mid afternoon, most afternoons he starts again to whinge for his tea which I refuse to give before 5 pm and again increasing in volume and frequency. This gets repeated later if he thinks he fancies a snack (which he does not get on demand!).
Is this him just pushing his boundaries to try to take control? _________________ Happiness is watching my dog chase leaves dancing in the breeze. |

One word Gaelle - YES!!!!!
Don't EVER give in to it - he's trying to take over as pack leader and both you and Martin need to make it clear he's not. Doesn't mean you have to get all disciplinarian with him but it DOES mean you have to be MORE disciplined with him and in control - sorry babe - I know you love his soppy chops to bits but you'll be making a rod for your own back if you don't firm up with him a touch
Despite the above I AM still going to ask you to pass some kisses on to him from me to soften the blow of the new regime _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

Fair enough. Just as we thought. On some things he accepts our authority, like when I put his food out for him, I make him wait until I say it's okay to eat it, and various other bits and bobs but this other stuff has just been increasing lately so BEFORE it gets out hand, I want to stop it so thanks. Now, where do I get a good pair of ear plugs? _________________ Happiness is watching my dog chase leaves dancing in the breeze. |

Boots & ANY supplier of Industrial workwear - we have Arco down here but not sure what you might have in your area
Hate to say it hunny but he's a big lad and needs taking in hand before he walks all over you......probably with one of your shoes in his chops at the time _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

Talking of shoes in chops, the other day I noticed he had one of Martin's slippers in his bed and figured he must have had it for some time. Amazingly, it WASN'T chewed! Not even a tiny bit! Not even a drool! Mine would have been , and have been, in pieces!
Back to training school ASAP! _________________ Happiness is watching my dog chase leaves dancing in the breeze. |

John'll have him sorted for you in no time but you MUST keep up the training at home remember or it'll be useless _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |
