I give Otto Evening Primrose oil every morning - he had flaky skin ages ago and vet recommended it daily, and not had a problem with his skin since. He has a very shiny coat too.
I just use the Evening Primrose oil I get for myself, larger capsule. |

For greyhounds racing dogs I know they add 10 ml per day to food of Super Solvitax RA ( supplement for horses but can be used for dogs). Description below from supplier. Many trainers swear by this as helps both joints and coats. Though at about £30 per 4L its not cheap. Evening primose might be as effective and cheaper!
Super Solvitax RA is pure Cod Liver Oil refined to the highest standards. Super Solvitax is a rich source of natural energy and Vitamins A and D. Beneficial for the ageing horse with arthritis or those in hard working conditions. |

Hello Everyone quick questions how often should you put Olive oil in there diner and how much? Going to try this and see if it improves the pooches coats etc |
Some people do but you have to monitor it because it can affect their stomach if they get too much and can give them a runny tummy. |

I cut open one evening primrose oil capsule into his breakfast (it's a larger capsule tho from Holland and Barratt) once a day. So probably about half a teaspoon. You don't need a lot to see a difference, and too much could give upset tummy. |

I use it with my Danes. Holland and Barret's Human Evening primrose oil capsule are much cheaper than buying via vet or pet shops. They have offers on large numbers quite frequently. I find them much cheaper, especially given the size of Great Danes. I add them to their food daily. _________________ Regards,

Great Danes are not substitute children. They are much more important than that! |
