Don't think I can watch it Sad I KNOW it goes on and I'm fully aware of what's involved but I'll have nightmares if I watch it Embarassed Crying or Very sad

I think ANY "breeder" should be named and shamed in the national press and listed all over the web - those who are caught indulging in this despicable practice should also have their websites shut down so their reach is limited and this should be effectively policed so they are not allowed to start up another. Instead of the usual message once the website has been shut down stating "oops this link appears to be broken" the message "this site has been closed due to the owners running a puppy farm" or similar should be displayed - that way if these vile humans have no market for the poor unfortunate puppies they will be forced out o the business. Short term it will be a huge shame for the animals that remain but long term it will save so many.

I've recently been reading another forum someone kindly sent me a link for and was horrified to see the conditions the "stock" dogs were kept in and the ill health of a huge percentage of the puppies. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Will try to watch this on bbci-player.... although usually find these programs so upsetting...

The best way to stop these farms is to EDUCATE prospective new puppy owners on where NOT to buy a puppy.

When Bracken had her pups last year I met and quizzed everyone that wanted to home one of her pups and even turned down a couple of people as I felt they hadn't done there homework on the breed.
I feel if you are looking for a pup the breeder should not mind you asking lots of questions and should make you welcome to visit the kennels/pups mother and litter a few times before you take a puppy home.
One person that wanted one of our pups even asked to meet in a car park and expected me to hand over the pup without even meeting her first or her seeing the pup!!
Of course I refused... and did not home a pup to them!... But if people buy pups this way, it is only playing into the puppy farms hands/purses!!

Agree with Tricia.

Only way to stop the supply is to stop the demand. If people didn't buy farmed puppies, there would be no point in doing it.

There have been some good articles on puppy farms - no one wants to get a dog that is ill/dangerous/going to die. Ignorance is bliss for puppy farmers.

Think I'm off to become a dog lobbyist - not enough is being done to promote good dog ownership Laughing
