I posted on a thread a while back Elaine (but can't for the life of me remember which one) a fairly comprehensive list of substances & foods toxic to dogs.
I've just gone & checked on the relevent thread over on my own forum and can't find mention of coconuts.
As with ANY human food though I would err on the side of caution and just give a little, that is to say I would give no more than a 1/4 of the coconut and actually MUCH less cos I love em too and I've got 3 mutts to share with _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

thanks for that I bought a 120g tub from Asda and I had half and Angel the rest so it was 60g but I panicked after I gave it her cause I thought NUTS!!! were bad for dogs but then its not really a nut silly me.

I wouldn't have let mine have half between them - I'd have scoffed most of it!!!!
No idea what 60g equates to - soooooo do not do technical or metric but try and limit her intake to no more than a 1/4 just in case it IS bad for them. It doesn't appear on my list but then it's not exhaustive and I'd hate to misadvise and have her poorly as a result
Glad she enjoyed her treat so much!!!! _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

I've just read on google as i googled dogs and coconut that coconut oil is very good for dogs as it contains just like eggs; albumin and it promotes healthy red blood cell so I think she be ok.

just watch how much you give her.
from what i he heard, if it is fresh and moist then too much will give her the runs.
if its dry then you should ass some oil to it as too much could make her constipated.
don't know if this is true i just remember reading it some where.
it is apparently high in fat, but i don't know if that's just the milk. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

It's the milk that causes the issues kendal - that much I DO recall reading. Under NO circumstances should dogs have coconut milk - thanks for prompting my memory there _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |
