Mylo has been shedding a lot lately and 2 days ago I gave him a bath (smelly). When i was drying him his fur came out in clumps in my hands, everywhere!

So, I bought a rake and spent a good hour going over him after he dried out a bit. Seriously, I filled a bin liner with his undercoat.

Even though its the coldest weather outside I guess he shed his coat because the heating has been on constantly.

He looks much thinner as a result, but really shiny coat and the cold still doesn't bother him.

Anyone else's dog shed their coat just when they need it most?

Yep. Cuthbert's coat looks like it has been cut with garden shears (and badly at that) because his undercoat is continuously coming out even more so than normal. I do remove the dead stuff with his Mars comb and his coat looks nice and shiny again for a couple of days then it's time to start again. Like you say , he doesn't seem bothered by the cold so long as he's dry.
