A prong will stop from him pulling, you can get them from john.
i would advise doing a couple of classes so john can show you how to use the prong correctly, if used the wrong way you could potentially hurt blue.

hey graeme ...i agree with alan i am sure you would see a difference with a prong on blue and your mum would find it a pleasure to walk him and not hauled round the park........but yeah john has a delivery due this week and he will show you how to use it properly.
although 3 relatively small dogs my three are a nightmare to walk without them!!!! _________________ Cockapoo's...a little of this, a little of that..........

Hi Graeme
I tried a prong on Laika my Dalmatian pup at Sunday's class. What a difference, it was as if I turned a switch that made her focus on me and I am hoping to get a prong collar when the delivery arrives.
Cheers

and i bet she still had that lovely waggy tail!.........someone once said to me it's like power steering for a dog!.....great description!
it is certainly the best collar i have ever come across and if you have someone be it a child or elderly person it makes it so much easier for them to walk the dog and not get dragged about!.......it makes walking such a pleasure! _________________ Cockapoo's...a little of this, a little of that..........

Sorry random question.....was it yourself I met this morning on a walk?? I had the little pup? If so, just got to say blue is a gorgeous big dog!!!
Ive spent the last few months trying to make alfie go for a walk!!! He now seems much more keen but thankfully pulling not a problem...yet! |

Let me assure you the prong collar is a Godsend for a pulling dog. Fred, my collie cross was a nightmare before, the only way to stop it was the use of a halti nose lead but this was not great for Fred, he hated wearing it and his character was totally stifled when out with it. The prong collar on the other hand stops him pulling but lets him be himself, the single greatest training aid I would say.
Fred will happily sit and allow you to put the collar on him, never fights with it to get it off and is so much more focused and happier. |

I agree the prong collar is a godsend.
It allows much better control and my dogs just need to hear me lift the collars and they come running, tails wagging, and they sit nicely to get their collars on.
I was totally against the prong collars until I actually saw one for myself and tried it out on my own arm - there was no pain but pain with the check chain.
I know what I would rather use.
