well just thought id say something positive for a change and after my 'what to do' post re rambo meeting anohter dog im so very very very proud of my boy 2day.
1ST i took him to pets at home to socialise AGAIN tho he only met a jack russel 2day, but rambo was very well behaved even when the jack russel jumped on him and growled, i just tugged rambo away and he moved on. oh he did pee on one of the training mat boxes tho lol!!!!!
Went back to bellahouston dog area this afternoon and there was 2 random dogs in it a golden retriever and a shitzu.... rambo approached calmly on his lead then we went in. Met a lovely couple who put my mind at ease and said to just go for it and let him run with the other dogs, they thought rambo was fine and not to worry, that it was the best way to socialise them.
With my heart in my mouth and legs actually shaking i did and he ran around playing with them really really well and surprisingly didnt even do his 'come and play barking' . When they left another 2 dogs came, a lab and a german shepherd. He ran around great with them 2 and even was play fighting over a stick with the very determined lab who refused to let it go!!!!!!
The new me is now trying to be aware of what 'might' happen but dont NOT do something just because i am the one who is scared.
Still would appreciate any replies to my other post just to know what i should work towards doing in these kind of situations.
lovely lovely day and he is sooooo knackered - has been sleeping on 'his' sofa for over 3 hrs and that is not like him normally he is last to fall asleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hopefully rambo at the thursday class this week will be like he used to be at it - 'cheeky but well behaved'!!!!!!!
that is fantastic new i really hope it continues. he is a fab boy i just think he gets over exited and focused on the wrong things. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk
