|
|
Hi, just thought I'd post to say that there is a streetlamp beside me that has cover removed for about a week now I have been making sure that nobody gets close to it but last night Bear got electric shock from just walking past it! Then my neighbour was out after me with his 2 dogs & they were both shocked so badly that he had to use his foot to move them away. The grass surrounding lamp is all burnt and was live probably due to snow etc getting into it. Called the police to ask how you report it & they came out and called Amey out so light is now off. Not overly happy that this went on so long before being fixed as the path it lights is path to St Maurice's and it could have been a child (as well as 3 dogs) had the schools not been off.
My neighbour has 2 staffies but worryingly one of them is a baby just getting out for the first time. They seem to be OK but they are keeping an eye on them just in case. Especially the wee one!
Bear too seems OK but am monitoring how he is although hard to say if it really affected him as he is so stressed with Aimee being in heat (first & last). Thankfully Tala's finished now |

Aw - so sorry to hear about Bear's shock!!!
How is he generally now Jenny? Is he all recovered from his poorly leg?
Fingers crossed that no other pooches or persons are injured by this lamp-post! _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

jack he's mostly better but will occasionally have bad days where it seems to be back & then he's OK again. Just panic now when he starts limping incase abscess is back. He's been back at training and was doing well until the ladies in his life went into season so he's complete pain just now |

Sorry to hear about bears shock, he is very lucky. There have been a few incidents in the news recently about dogs peeing on a lampost and beind shocked. unfortunately they died, so its best not to let your dogs pee on any lamppost just in case. _________________ Grace & Dexter |

Have spoken to other doggy people in area to warn them as even although my big boy wasn't really hurt the smaller dogs next door were really zapped badly (females who weren't weeing) and we have so far found another 4 streetlights with no covers on to protect the wires. With this weather this is becoming a serious risk to all. Am thinking of maybe reporting it to Cumbernauld News as feel it is going to take a fatality to person or animal to get them fixed and properly maintained. |
