I was having lunch with friends on Sunday. They have just been home checked and accepted to rear a puppy until it is a year old.

They said that SP are always looking for people to raise their pups for a year.

anyone tempted? The police pay all related costs.

I would need to head to the hills after the year was over and take the dogs with me - no way could I have a dog for a year and hand it back Crying or Very sad

Guide Dogs for the blind run a similar thing.

Girl in my work has had 3. Just think all the mayhem of a pup, then when it starts to get a certain level of training, give it away and have more mayhem!!!

yeah my neighbour used to do that with guide dogs. I think it takes a big heart to train a puppy for a year then hand it over. These are special people in my book!

One thing that does sound handy is she can take the dogs everywhere, shops, restaurants, etc.

I think I could do that but you would need lots of free time to spend on training so a full time job must be a no no. Maybe if i win the lottery thats what i could do to fill my days it would be a lovely job and I wouldn't need paid Laughing

I worked as dressmaker in Germany.
I just meant if I would own a puppy for a year, I could never give it back for somebody else to work with.

Embarassed Maybe lost in translation... Rolling Eyes
