With all the bad press surrounding Africa, particularly Kenya at the moment, I thought I'd share some piccies of my trip from a few months ago. I'd hate to think it has put people off going. Africa needs tourists Confused
I've finally managed to get some onto photobucket so hope this works....

Masai Mara

How cute??

Up close and personal in Zimbabwe

Sunset, Chobe River, Botswana

On the Okovango Delta, Botswana

Where we slept in the bush one night

Zanzibar

Zimbabwe

I was rather scared

Victoria Falls, Zambia

Silverback in Rwanda, we were literally 4m away...eeek

Mountain gorilla

Well there you go... now off you go and book your trips!!!! lol
Hope you liked them!

Ashley, that looked like some trip.

was lucky enough to go to Kenya nearly 20 years ago now and would love to go back, just never met another soul that wants to go.

was the holiday of a lifetime. We were befriended by a group of Kenyan lads who took us all over, into the villages, the bush bars and on a safari, we had done an organised safari but doing it with 3 local boys in a beat up old minivan was just great.

We traveled through two of the reserves and a fair bit of the country but never got to the mara, my favorite place was malindi at the Somalian border.

How long were you there, and how come you got to do so many different countries. Did you do them all in the one trip?

Yeh it was all in one trip. We left in July and got back start of October. Did not want to come home. We went from Kenya, to Uganda, then Rwanda, then to Tanzania, across to Zanzibar island, down to Malawi, then Mozambique, then Botswana, Zambia and we finished in South Africa. That was the second time i'd been to Kenya but the first for all the rest.

I know, well that kind of spurred me on to post some photos up...

So many people keep saying to me.... "Now will you stop going to Africa"
But there is no way. I feel so alive when Im there.

I'm friends with a family there, and have been since my first trip to Africa. They live in Nairobi, Kenya and say they have been unable to leave their house in days. I phoned Tom the other day, he sounded very upset.

Here is a piccie of them... from when i was there in July...

The youngest boy is called Jackson (after my Granda) and the other little boy is Grant-Rogers (Rogers is my surname).

Nice photos. I spent 3 months in kenya 10 years ago, at the same time it was in the news here also as again there was elections at the time, because of that i saw and heard about alot of violence which is such a shame. I met some fantastic people while i was there, i worked with kenyans there and they are such warm people. Went on safari too, was amazing, but i wouldn't want to go for more than a few days, after a while it was like great, another zebra Very Happy

Aw I completely agree Isabel.... a few days on safari and that was it for me. We didnt spend more than that either. We just tried to immerse ourselves more in the culture. If you've seen one baboon, zebra, giraffe etc, you've seen em all lol
