|
|
Following on from a conversation I had with Kendal on our way home from the walk I had mentioned that my dinner was in the oven. She asked what I was cooking and for a change I'm having a 'sunday roast'. Roast chicken, chipolatas, stuffing, broccoli, sweetcorn (the only veg Em eats ) and the main ingredient ............ home made roast potatoes roasted in goose fat!!!!! Oh and gravy of course .............
We were salivating at the thought of the roast potatoes (Janis I really hope you're not making her fish fingers tonight now ).
Do you all have a traditional roast dinner on a sunday?
I rarely do, I just cook whatever we feel like. Whether it is a roast, pasta, curry or soup and a sandwich!!!!!!
Anyway ............. I'm starving now, my walk has given me an appetite!!!! |

goose fat or duck fat for the potatoes!!!!!!
Chicken - just read the instructions that's what I do! I used to only buy breasts too but when it's cooked on the bone it's got more flavour and much more tender.
Chinese ...............mmmmmmmmmmmmmm ............ I love chinese. Which takeaway do you use? |

we went to get free range chicken yesterday from tesco and there was none left, only one wee organic chicken breast left which cost a fortune, so ended up getting tescos finest |

Yes Kerry, Tesco sell goose fat. It's sold in jars and is usually beside the meat in the chiller cabinets. Makes a difference |

Yep, we have a roast every Sunday, always have and probably always will, either salmon cut roast beef, roast chicken or my favourite smoked pork loin joint. Always have with either cabbage, turnip, sprouts when in season, cauliflower or mushrooms fried in butter. And yes roast potatoes in Goose fat nothing beats that.
