Rosie can get home today. Her blood count is high enough to let her home this afternoon and I'm so excited! She's going to be quite weak for at least a few days so I've been advised to leave Cuthbert up the road for a day or two to let her get used to being home and get her first blood test done. She'll be on heavy meds for a while and need regularblood tests every few days. Her condition is treatable but as I understand it, not curable. She is better at the moment and that is ace.
The only downside of her coming home today is that I can't get Cuthbert back for a day or two but I'm told he is having a wonderful time with lots of free running, other dogs to play with and lots of cuddles.
Later when he does get home I intend to bring him down the glen as often as possible at lunchtimes (Rosie and transport permitting of course!) as he needs more doggy company and running about off lead.

I am pleased to hear that Rosie is coming home.

However, I am still strongly of the opinion that Cuthbert should be at home with you - the longer he is away and out of his routine, the more trouble you will have when he eventually comes home. He is only a baby, after all.

He needs you every bit as much as Rosie does.

Aww poor Cuthbert, and Rosie of course. I do agree with Enid though, having Cuthbert home and into a routine again as soon as possible may be the best thing for you and for Rosie. He may be looking for a lot more attention than you can provide when he eventually gets home. If they are together, they will both fall into the routine they should be in, which enables them to settle down. Rosie may be unsettled after having you all to herself for a few days, then in bounds Cuthbert to take some of the attention away!

Just my 2p's worth.

Really glad you're getting Rosie home though Smile
Look forward to seeing you and Cuthbert - and hopefully Rosie too if she's feeling ok - up the Glen.

Rosie is going to be very weak initially and for some time to come (after all it was touch and go for a while) yes of course I want Cuthbert home but until Rosie is settled in I have to avoid undue stress on her as it would cause a relapse. This is medical advice, not a whim. He needs me less at the moment. I know he is just a baby and of course I miss him and want him home but I have to do what is best for them both and this is it.
Rosie is never going to be fit enough to go to the glen, Cuthbert will be and shall get taken there as soon as is possible.

Your attitude to Cuthbert makes me really angry Gaelle. I am simply at a loss to understand it and I feel very sad for him.

I am not going to read your posts any more and I will not post any more on this subject.

Gaelle, I too find it incredible that you can leave a puppy for so long in kennels when he needs love, stability and his new home at this time.

I will also not be reading or posting on this subject any more.

I am glad Rosie is on the mend.
