Asked Fiona last night about what the vet said.
Apparently the dogs have picked this up from the human strain that has been doing the rounds. The vets are inundated with doggie sickness and diarrhea Sad

fiona was saying last night that the vet said starving them wasnt going to help as its a bug not something they have eaten, so by starving them it is making jake weaker and not able to shift it. so was advised to feed him (selected food) to get his strength and weight back.

I could have misunderstood this as i did have a few glasses of wine by then Smile

no I think that was the gist of it Kerry. Problem being that Jake has lost a lot of weight and the vet recommended feeding him plenty to help get him back on track. Smile

I starved the girls for 24 hrs but fed them again this morning fingers crossed they are ok so far.
There are looking a bit slimmer than usual too and that has only been two days.

Emma, you must not starve the pups any more they need their strength to fight the bug which is causing the problem. It may well mean more to clean up but they need to eat to keep up their strength. Hope they are better very soon.

Thanks for the advice Lorna i know your right, gone back to normal feeding today. They are a lot chirpier.

Poor Buster. Just shows how bad this 'epidemic' is, Buster hasn't been in contact with any of the other dogs. Sad
