Just wondered what you all had in your doggy first aid kit, we have on here and it grows all the time, we had a thread like this on our SBT forum and it was helpful when folk listed what they had as some things I didnt and went out and got. So here is what ours consist off, it's more a general doggy box but I will list what we have we always have this if we go away or if we go long walks/trips:
Hibiscrub
Iodine Spray
Piriton (non drowsy)
Vet Bandage
Plaster
Calendula Cream
Sulphur (30c)
Arnica
Grass/Pollen Nosodes
Scissors
Immune Plus
Syringe
Nu Stock |

It could be LOL It's wonderful stuff, I have used it for a range of skin complaints and it has always worked you can buy it in boots. It's called skin healing cream and is available in the homeopathic section.
I forgot to add to my list benozyl benozate (sp) this can help with skin problems due to mites, its actually used in humans for scabies but works in dogs too (as long as you dont mind buying it lol). |

A few of the things on your list, but one I would never be without is Crysticide cream.

I used it when Jodie had her interdigital cysts. She was in danger of having toes removed, Marcella, the poor lass was suffering so much. This cream worked like magic.
It is good for cuts, burns and minor wounds as it seals out the air so healing can take place. Good for people too.

that's a good idea... never really thought about a doggie first aid kit - we just have a general first aid drawer in the kitchen that I use in any emergency!
was looking at what you said about benozyl benozate Laura... one thing I would say about it is perhaps get advice before you use it on pets with sensitive skin / skin allergies / allergies to perfumed products as it might cause allergic reaction... I am only aware of this as I am allergic to the benzoate group of additives... so I thought I would add that in, just in case it is the same for dogs.
Maybe someone with a bit of veterinary / medical knowledge can clarify?

was just about to ask if it was good for human use. It sounds like a cream that would certainly be worthwhile having in the cabinet!!!! I assume you buy it only in a chemist? |

Tea Tree gel stick - to stop bleeding of cut paws
Spray on skin
Sterile dressings
Rescue remedy - for stressed owner in case of accident!

Only thing about Rioja is fitting it in your backpack when walking it gets heavy. Rescue remedy can get you home to the red wine in one piece.
However, good red wine should always be available at home! Absolute necessity for owner's sanity.
