hi there...

just this minute back from the vet...

we had a bit of projectile vomiting episode in the car and then the squits when I got him home from the walk. Then he was crying and pacing and when i let him into the garden he was pooing blood. Yargh! Just phoned vet right away.

Seems to have high temp but thankfully his stomach isn't cramping as badly as last time. It might be colitis. So he has been given antibiotic jag and I've to starve him for 24hours. We need to go back to vet tomorrow to get him checked again, but I've to keep an eye on him tonight to see how it goes and I've got the emergency vet number, just in case.

I really hope it doesn't come to that Confused

Vet said not to get too upset about the blood as it might just be him straining to poo and that a little bit of blood can really make itself look a lot worse than it is. That's putting it mildly - I was aghast!

That's another sleepless night for me then - I'll just need to down a bottle of wine then hit myself over the head with the empty I think!

I'll let you know how he gets on.

Thanks everyone.

Lx

My old boy Ollie had this last Sunday. He had what seemed like a LOT of blood in his poo and I was really worried. I phoned my vet nurse pal and she advised me to starve him and see how he was by the Monday morning. Did that and he was right as rain by the Monday.
A little bit of blood gives us a HUGE fright though!!

Hope Leon is feeling better, and your nerves are not jangling. Smile

Linsey, I hope Leon is better soon. A good bottle of wine will help you relax. Do you have a movie you watch to cheer you up when you are down? If so I would relax and watch it.
Thinking of you two.
