Opening doors!

I was so pleased when Dale learned to close doors that I didn't think of all the consequences.
Today he was left in the kitchen while we went to Stirling. He had half his breakfast in a treat ball a bowl of water, toys and a chew.
When we got back he was playing in the garden. I know the door was closed when we went out but obviously not locked.
Now I suppose he'll be able to get anywhere unless he's he's locked in
Why did we fall for a dog clever than ourselves?
