I have one of those leather half checks, but for his main walks i use the prong on him, he is not bad on the leash but its his sudden dashes to get to another dog that has me getting dragged along with him at some speed, he has so much power now so i got that to stop him pulling my arm off. it has worked, especially if we take him near sheep he doesnt lunge for them, so makes walking him a pleasure now
We had a harness on him, but i felt that didnt stop him pulling, we want to put a harness on him when we start to train him so he know when that goes on he is in training mode dont know if that will work though |

I know, its full of horror storys, dont get me wrong i think Koda would and does run away for the deer, got a few frights but he came back after a minute, now i dont know if thats because he is used to being off or the deer were faster |

I will certainly need a prong collar for her i felt the power in her when I was holding her lead, i doubt the harness I have for kiera would cut it with 2 dogs pulling i would need a helmet, shin and elbow pads. |

there is a couple who walk their Husky (very like Koda) at Calderglen and he is always off lead they told me he runs off but they just stay put and call him and he eventually comes back think they said the longest he had been away was 20 mins but the main thing is he comes back and is safe in the park |

I just want to be well prepared beforehand, I have been reading up for so long now, you end up with information overload after a few years Now that it is reality almost i have gone mental with doing lists of things we would need to get and do. |

I walk both my malamutes on semi slip webbing collars.. they are walked on dogmatics in busy areas and NEVER off lead.. They get worked on the rig and also on scooters and they get to run free in an enclosed area twice a week..
When we go to the beach we use horse lunge lines as long lines so they can swim without us getting wet _________________

What age is Koda?? Don't kid yourself that you will wear him out..Cruiser could run all day..makes it look very easy..
Our enclosed area is my workplace..I work in a Youth Club and we have our own building with a large grass area and car park..with a 6 foot chain link fence.. so they get an hour before work and 1/2 hour after work.. _________________
