I am noticing today on Cuthbert's throat area , right where his collar ends a build up of dark brown waxy substance. Am I right in assuming this to be a build up of sweat as I have tried to clean most of it away and the skin under it looks slightly inflamed and a wee bit broken. I am also wondering if this could be the forerunner to eczema as it is the same general area Rosie used to get it. I have left off his collar and put on a harness instead for a few days. My idea would be to put on Calendula cream if he would only let me.

I think it probably is a build up of sweat Gaelle. We usually take Holly's collar off of her when we are in the house, to avoid any build up or irritation. Maybe best to do that for a while.

Know this sounds disgusting... but when i was travelling, and you have a watch on... and dont take it off for a while... you get that build up of crap under it!!!??? Do you know what i mean? Or do you all just think im a tramp now?! haha. Shocked

No I don't think you're a tramp at all! I did think that the gunk could be a build up of sweat but I had thought that by taking his collar off at night that would prevent any problems. Okay all "body furniture" off indoors now for him. Thanks Ashley.
