1st time he had to have a good look at it Very Happy

This kind of thing is called spookbusting in the horse world, it gets horses used to different things, so that when the time comes to ride them, you can really take them anywhere and they dont get spooked at strange sights, its also good to get them out walking on the roads so they get good with traffic, get them used to plastic sheets and flags blowing about, so that rubbish blowing in the wind doest scare them, anything different at all is great for young horses, just as long as you dont terrify them in the process Smile

Great pics Shirley and Allan.

Have you had Jazz long Shirley?

I used to have Highlands. I lost my old mare Mhairi three years ago and her "foal" Afton (aged 19) is on long term loan as a companion pony with someone in Blairgowrie. Crying or Very sad

Not enough time or money to have another pony/horse at the moment but you never lose the longing! Sad

Our phone and broadband has been down again for a day this time! Evil or Very Mad Thanks again BT!

Shirley, I had a Highland colt who I had gelded at around the age Jazz will be when he is done. He was fine and looked more male than if he had been done as a yearling. He had developed a bit more around the neck by that time which I quite liked. A bit naughty too though!

Looks like you are giving him a very thorough grounding, getting him used to all sorts of stuff before you actually ride him, and as Eleanor says getting lots of exercise at the same time. Good idea. I don't know how you find the time for all you do but I bet it will all pay off. Very Happy
