That's it, all booked! Poor wee Tilly is getting the snip on the 14th of October.
Any advice for when she comes home after the op would be great! Does she come home the day she has the op?
Thanks!!

its a Little more than a snip, that more for the boys
she will got out on the same day, just let her settle herself, give her something light to eat like scrambled egg or something like that. she may be a bit groggy when she comes out. if you feel she is still a bit uncomfortable give her some Ibuprofen its a pain killer and antyinflamatory.
she will be fine. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

She'll come home the same day so long as all went well (HIGHLY unlikely it won't )
She'll be wobbly and might even have the odd cry. She'll have glazed eyes and IF you are driving then it's recommended that you drive with the window slightly down as she'll still be exhaling anaesthetic fumes and will continue to do that for a few hours hence it taking time for her to come round properly. She'll initially be cautious about over stretching herself (Staffies predictably aren't they TRY to behave and tear round as normal ) encourage her to rest and remain as calm as possible. Make the lighting dim, the room warm and make sure everone is as gentle and quiet around her as possible at least until she has come round properly. She might have a little cry when she has her first few wee's and poo's. You can clean her wound for her with a mild saltwater solution, just gently dab with cotton wool, to minimise the risk of infection.
For our girls first meal we gave them boiled cod with all bones removed as Ella has an egg allergy so that was off the menu.
Watch out for milk being expressed from her nipples. It's quite common for phantom pregnancies to appear after this op. If the milk doesn't appear or else disappears within a few days then you have nothing to worry about but Rosie had quite a bad phantom pregnancy after her op and was quite poorly with that AND an infected wound. She had stale milk in her boobs that had started to go off and solidify and I had to milk her to get rid of it - she then had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and was poorly with them She wasn't a well little girl for about a week and I was very very worried about her. Ella meanwhile just sailed through it all as if nothing had happened which is much more normal - and quite unlike my Ella to be normal!
I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine - please let us know how she gets on.xxx _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

oh and because she is wee and close to the ground i would sujest a wee vest for her to keep her stitches clean for the first wee while. ow also found that essayer than the lampshade as Inca started to use it to scratch her stitches and caused a wee infection that meant her stitches had to stay in a wee bit longer.
if you like the idea of the vest i will check with mum that is is ok to give you and old one of Innes' _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

Anna you can buy a tesco value pack of three white babygrows and cut a bit for her tail to go through. This will stop the suture getting dirty. She will get stiches that just dissolve, so it will just look like a scar. She'll be fine. Holly was pretty much back to normal after her nights rest! _________________ Ashley with Holly & Murphy.
