what do you all use in your crates?
Now that Giles has stopped peeing in the crate we want to get him a proper base/ bedding.

we just use 3 or 4 dog blankets and some padded dog beds. other people use duvets. or you can get vet beds that are apparently hard waring. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

that is the beauty of layers only the top cops it . and we have two sets so that when one is in the wash we have another set ready and waiting. we also have a third set that go in the back of the car, and another that is mostly used for the cats but sometimes gets mixed with the dogs.
that make it sound like a lot. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

I use padded dog beds and vet bed for my lot... buy ruby only gets the vet bed and a blanket
because she just digs a hole in the padded beds and then has great fun pulling all the stuffing out!!!
But she is only 7 months old... and the temptation is just too much for her
The vet bed is great stuff and washes up great... I buy it on a big roll and cut it to the sizes I need. |

ross,
dunnes store at the town centre has a fab dog's bed.......i have bought about 4 of them and they wash like a ribbon!
they are approx £6/£7 and they come in blue and are found near one of the pillars near the check out tills. they will be big enough for giles and if you get two you will always have one spare! _________________ Cockapoo's...a little of this, a little of that..........
the perfect combination!

We use doubled up bits of vet bed which gets shoved in the washing machine every weekend and dries in no time. And lasts forever! Still got a couple of bits from when he was a puppy.
I have a very sensitive sense of smell = so any whiff of dog and it's in the wash. And that includes him.

we also use a padded dog cushion then vet bed
vet bed certainly seems the best-comfortable, hard wearing and washes well |

we use 2 or 3 of those Ikea fleece blankets just now - and we have a vet bed as well. Thats usually in the car crate though.
That Sounds good Janis - might try that one out.
We need to get our cats a bed aswell as Parker keeps going into the crate trying to claim it for himself.

We dot use a crate for our two.
They share a big plastic bed and a double duvet.
We did not understand the benefits of crates before they were used to there plastic bed.
In fact I thought it was cruel before I had the correct information.
We reckon that if we were to get any other dogs in the future we would adopt the use of crates.

giles absolutely hates his crate. he loves being around people and animals, so him being in prison is his worst nightmare.
We were talking last night of just getting him a big plastic bed with a big comfy bedding in it so him and the cats can all keep each other warm! however, we need to be able to trust him first - until then its shawshank im afraid! _________________ want to see the animals in my life?
