|
|
Hi,
I tried sending an email to the trainer of the site, but had no reply. I was just wanting some advice on whether or not to bring my dog to obedience classes. We bought him about 4 weeks ago, and he's now 8 months old. The couple that had him before never had any time for him so he only knew basic commands sit(stubborn at this one) and paw. We've managed to grasp "sit" pretty well, and now "down" as well, working on "stay" now. He's a labrador, so mouthing really badly still - don't think he's ever had any bite inhibition nor any socialization as a young pup. We had him castrated, but he's still quite dominant and defiant. On walks, on lead is a nightmare with pulling. I ended up buying a Halti to work on it, but after about a week he already needs a new one. Off lead he's excellent however.
So, would classes benefit both ourselves and Ben? And which class would he fit into etc?
Thanks!

there is a form you can download on the website, if not you can fill one out on the day, i think all you need to bring is his vaccination card. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

Hmm.. Should the vaccination card be available from the vet? Don't have one at all! |

thats weird, has he had all his jags, the vet has to put a sticker on it from the vaccination used and then sine it. i would definitely check with your vet, or ask the previous owners about it. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

Previous owner did say he was up to date on his vaccinations, he was vet checked before we bought him so we didn't have any doubts about that.
I've never heard of a vaccination card before, we got a pup at the start of last year and when we took him for his first jags we never got a card for him at the time either..
Will need to find out from the previous vet about it. |

we got our card when we got our girls as they had all had their first vaccinations before we got them, the whole point of the card is to prove the dog is vaccinated, so if you dont have one you wouldnt be able too kennel your dog.
are you still at the same vet he was with as a puppy, if so they should have all his info on file and should be able to get you all up to date, let us know how you get on as this is the first i have heard about a dog not having a card. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

No, I switched vets. I'm trying to remember the name of the one she said he was with before I don't have their number anymore, but they have mine - not much help, though.
I definitely never received a card when we took Thai for his jags, why I never knew to ask for Ben's. |

what vet are you with now.
might be a good idea to call them and the previous owners and try to get the number of the old vet. so you can get the info, other than that you might have to get him done again so that you know it is definitely marked down. but bets to try and get the old vets no. so they can check their records. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

With the vet in Condorrat now.
I'm positive the vet began with a B, I keep thinking Bankside or something along those lines... Sean thinks it's Bannockburn. Yell.com here I come |
