After seeing the great pics of your walk yesterday, I too have some questions about muzzles. Luca and the other shepweiler looked like they were having a great time (even though they were muzzled) and now I am definately going to get one for Hektor. I really need to get him back out there in the company of other dogs to renew my confidence in him instead of avoiding the situation
As he is better off-lead with other dogs and not so protective, this could be the best way forwards. What types are best? I am leaning towards the fabric one because it doesnt look so scary as the basket one but which do those who already have experience of them prefer?

I like the fabric ones too, but I feel Luka could still get a nip with the ones he has, they dont seem long enough for his big nose, I bought 2 types, the one he is wearing was from the poundshop and he has XL lol but even the mikki one i feel is too short and it was the best fit. I think I would like a basket one just in case tho but i dont think the dogs find them as comfortable
You can try one of lukas if you want, tho Hektor may need a broader one, not sure but let me know if you want to try, i have about 3 of them, lol just in case _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

I use both types of muzzle. I think JD is comfier with the basket muzzle he is able to breathe better when running around.
I use the fabric muzzle when at the vet.

Excellent - thank you! Basket type it is for walks then (IF needed) and soft for close contact work - I have a Mikki one too but their fitting is crap for Staffies, being short and sturdy of snout _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |
