With all this snow, ice and salt how are your dogs paws holding up?
Murphy is fine but Diesel doesn't want to walk far in it.

My two are fine but I am really only walking them on snow, paths too slippy to hold Hek if he decides to go! Giles is suffering though, I had to carry him across Cumbernauld Fields on Tuesday because the deep snow was catching in the long hair between his pads, he was crying poor boy. I am glad Millie and Hek have really short hair.

Alfie has a fear of getting his feet wet so this is kinda his idea of a nightmare. He was squealing on walk the other day and holdin up his front paw which meant given his back leg he was falling everywhere. Allthat was wrong was he had snow between his pads. Not the bravest dog in the world really!! Seems to be enjoying it better the last few days.

JD and Bracken are both loving it. When the snow was actually falling JD was crying at the door desperate to get out to play and then he would jump up and try and catch the snow flakes.

It was quite a sight lol Laughing

Fred is loving the snow, running about the garden like a linty, ears back and leaning in for faster cornering. Loves it when you bury his toys in the snow for him to find!!

Clever Collie??? Aye right! Laughing

my lot are loving it, but they get covered in ice balls, and they get them in between their pads, Echos was limping home the other week because of it.

lol im finding it funny that when i take them out they seem to come home cleaner than they left, i swear Echo's coat looks whiter.

Cuthbert loves the snow and would happily play in it all day especially with someone throwing it for him. Ice is a different matter though , as Lisa says the paths around here are very slippy and thankfully he is not too keen on walking on the stuff because if he decides to pull at all then I have NO chance of staying upright. The only problem he has from the snow is he gets a chill and has to go out again umpteen times. ( He's putting on weight Embarassed )

Yoda loves it but we made the mistake of throwing a ball for her in it and now she has a skint paw. This does not stop her she would play in it night and day. She however, is being made to wear boots and a fur coat so she is not happy about that.

Both my dogs love the snow! Sasha can only handle the temperature because of his Equafleece but his paws are quite delicate. Mylo powers through snowdrifts, eating it, rolling in it etc.

Mylo has a bothersome paw though. His front right paw must be v itchy as he keeps eating it and making noises of frustration. I've checked it over for cuts or foreign objects but found nothing. Wonder if its related to the snow/ice/salt, but its just the one paw and it was bothering him before the ice came.

Grit seems to split pads......Diesel suffers from this.......them the licking/cleaning becomes a habit.

Buster loves the snow but the grit is really annoying him. He holds his paws up and whimpers (big baby). I put a fleecy dog coat on him the other day and he tried to get it off by rubbing himself against bushes and low walls. He wouldn't do the toilet until I took it off him then he ran about like a dog possessed and did what he had to.
