Me again!
I know I'm going to start classes in August but really want to get a head start with the training. He's really doing fantastic. I've got him sitting, giving a high five, staying, and I'm trying out a target thing with him just now with my hand so i can eventually get him to close drawers and doors etc and he's doing great with it, but how the heck do i get him to take the treat without losing a finger? sometimes he catches me with those little razor teeth.
I'm also trying out getting him to wait before he's allowed to take the treat but when he does sometimes it can be really fast and furious.
Lisa/Colin I don't have a life ...I'm always here!

When I give my dogs a treat I say 'Gentle' and keep most of it concealed with my fingers so they can smell it but cant really get a grip of it with their teeth. when they gently go to take it I will give them it, otherwise I say no and start again. It doesnt take long for them to get the hang of it but you will probably need to practice often so he doesnt forget!
Thats great he's doing so well, sounds like a clever boy you've got
