Hi
Really looking forward to the winter puppy walks, as we are going to be walking with the dogs on leash I think it will be a big help for us with Tia, she and myself are doing great with the off leash work but she does seem to think every time we meet a dog that they are just going to be let off leash to run riot.
She is great walking on leash when it is just us so here is hoping it doesn't take her long to realize you can walk with the pack without jumping head first into every puddle.

Hi All
Just posted about how good Tia is on the leash and took her for a walk................and what happened...........she saw another dog and pulled be on her leash and yes down I went ...............pulled the feet from under me and I landed on my back..... a man out with his dog ( the intended playmate ) had to come and help me up.. OK now, ( after a big girl bubble when I got home) just a rather large lump on the back of my napper and a sore behind.

oh that's not good!......hope you're ok alice. it's not easy walking a strong dog and can be dangerous in this weather more-so when the leaves land on the ground and can be slippery underfoot. would you consider a prong for some walks to prevent this happening again? _________________ Cockapoo's...a little of this, a little of that..........
the perfect combination!

Hi
Yeah I am OK thanks Janis, we've never been a big fan of the prong but I must admit it did cross my mind when I got home, but we will persevere with the collar just now ( just glad I didn't have the harness on as that makes her even stronger) I am going set some meeting with other dog walkers and see if we cant calm her down a bit and I am hoping the winter walks will help as well.

When are the winter puppy walks going to be on?? Still the same time on Tuesdays?
I'm still needing to have Alfie learn to walk on lead with other dogs. He doesn't pull but he lies down then as the dog comes over he jumps around like an idiot. I envy all these people with the nice little dogs that just plod past and ignore him.
Sorry to hear about your accident Alice. Hope you're ok! |

So would people like to start doing street walks now the dark nights are coming in? Even craigmarloch walk may be good since its fully lit and has a field were the dogs can have a quick run _________________ http://www.justgiving.com/Laura-Anne-Innes Please support our cause.
