Reading through the N.I society forum recently I see at least 3 dogs between the ages of 2 and 3 years old have died, no one knows why, the last one was Luca and the vet did'nt know of any reason for it, I don't want to rock the boat on there but would any of you ask if you had N.I s, they will think I'm causing bother if I ask and become very defensive but it does cause me some concern. _________________ paw prints on my heart |

Hi Elaine,
That's a shame about the NIs that have died. Hope yours are ok.
How do you mean "would any of you ask"....ask what? Ask them why the dogs died? Sorry, I don't understand. |

Ok....so, do you mean ask the other forum members or the vets? If I had NIs I would want to know why they died. |

Of course I would ask. If I were you, I wouldn't care if they thought I was a nuisance. Your dogs are important and any threat to them you would want to know how to avoid it. _________________ Regards,

Get your point elaine I would want a full autopsy (sp) No matter what breed if they died at such a young age. |

Elaine,
you HAVE to ask.......what if the same happened to one of your dogs for you then to be told.......oh ,that happened to mine a few months back........if you changed XYZ it would have been fine............you would hate yourself every day when you thought 'if only'............. _________________ John Thomson

I have'nt asked yet I'm not sure who to ask or even if I should post it public, I know what you mean John, and every time I look at Inka and Kain now I'm worried cause they are 17 month now. _________________ paw prints on my heart |

Why not try asking by starting a new thread offering your condolences to all who lost their pet and then asking if there is any advice they can give to other NI owners who may be concerned by what has happened????? That way it may start a conversation about it and others may ask more probing questions. |

Marcella they are a very close group of folks who do cover a lot up, I have asked some one in a PM I'll see what comes back, I just asked this second and explained I did'nt want to post public because of the sensitivity of the topic and said I was worried for my boys so I'll get back to you as soon as I hear anything. _________________ paw prints on my heart |

Hopefully then you will get SOME sort of info. It's only fair if there is a problem then they ought to inform everyone who owns an NI. |

I know but they are not like that, some one posted a pic of their dog whos ears are down like Inkas so I posted a pic of my guy then was barraged by some one saying I was blameing the breeder which I never have and as far as I know there is 3 in his litter whos ears are down, I was posting about genetics rather than dominance and they did'nt like it. _________________ paw prints on my heart |

Well surprise surprise the answer is " well i'm not to sure to be honest, not breed related though, I think just unfortunate natural circumstances though " _________________ paw prints on my heart |
