Noticed a 1cm lump on Doogle's back paw few days ago. It doesn't seem to be getting worse, and doesn't seem to bother him at all.. not sure if he perhaps caught it on something or if he needs a trip to the vet..
The area is bald, with stubbly hair around and there is some discolouration.
Anyone identify what it is / might be?
Close -up...

not sure stuart but i would clean it up and get spray plaster on it to protect it from dirt! if the same after christmas if it's no better a visit to the vet i think!
inform the kennels when you drop him off and they will keep an eye on it ! _________________ Cockapoo's...a little of this, a little of that..........

is it bothering him in anyway, like is he licking or biting it.
if you tell the kennels about it they will keep an eye on it and take him to the vet if he needs it, their insurance should cover all costs.
the kennel may also have see something like it or might know what it is. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

Sony gets similar wounds from walking through nettles.
As long as he doesn´t lick or bite it , he should be fine.
As Kendal and Janis said, please tell us when you bring Doogle in, and we´ll check it every day. We normally put antiseptic powder on little cuts or wounds.
If he is going to need a vet, you or your emergency contact will get a call. You can than decide, whether you want to get him earlier out of the kennels or if we shall take him to see the vet. _________________ "It is possible to live without a dog, but it is not worth it."

Doesn't bother him at all.. haven't seen him lick it or bite it.. doesn't really mind if we touch it.
I'll let whoever is on the desk at the kennels when I take him in on Monday.
Cheers! |

Stuart, Murphy has a similar patch on his back paw too, but it doesn't bother him either. I think it's been picked up while the run around then glen, perhaps skidding on tarmac even.
But as the others have said, spray plaster works really well |

Could it be a graze?
Murphy skids to a halt when chasing a ball..........on tarmac he grazes his back paws trying to stop quickly....... _________________ John Thomson

Hi Stuart,
Leon had something really similar on his hip once... it looked a bit like a graze with a scab on it.
I just kept my eye on it as it didn't seem to bother him at all. It wasn't quite as bald as that, but there was some hair missing. One day I thought it looked loose and I gently pulled at it with my nail and it just lifted off. Leon didn't even bat an eyelid - it was just like a scab. And the hair did grow back too.
Hope he is OK. Just keep an eye on it and keep it clean. I just used a saline solution and a clean swab.
