I really hope you all find an agility club that is near.
I absolutely love agility and so do my dogs.
Good luck with your quest in finding a club! |

I have been looking on line for plans to build some agility equipment....I have found a book that contains detailed plans for 25 different pieces of agility equipment.I think I 'll go for it then hide in my garage for a few weeks like a mad proffessor _________________ John Thomson

You should try and set up and agility club, i'm sure there you would have a lot of interest.
I take it you, as a club, aren't in a position to buy some equipment? |

Nicola,
we have had a great year so could afford to buy some equipment..we are about to move to a new MUCH larger hall and I am sure we will attract more members.
I am lucky to have support from committee and members alike.......two weeks ago I suggested a few of us get together for a walk...because we don't train during the Summer I am lost on a Tuesday which is our normal club night.....anyway on Tuesday past our walk totaled 30 dogs..and not a bit of bother from any of them. _________________ John Thomson

The walk sounds great, John. Hope it continues to attract lots of dogs and owners!
Agility is always better outside, but if the hall is big enough, in the winter you could perhaps have it inside.
Do you like making things, is that why you'd like to make your own? Just curious. |

Just naturally a tight git .....some of the agility equipment I have seen can easily be made........where there is a will......... _________________ John Thomson

Go for it, make your own! When you finish the obstacles it'll be worth it.
What about weave poles, and things like that, would you buy them? |

Interesting.
I'm organising a dog show for August the 11th.
As prizes last year I had about 15 agility tunnels and this year I will have about 20 weave pole sets.
I get them free from my Royal Canin rep
So far she's given me 83 prizes for the show, including
Dog food bins.
Dog encyclopaedias
leads with a spring in the handle for Giant breeds
Massive feeding bowls for the Giant breeds
Twin bowl stands & bowls for smaller dogs.
Dog pedometers (LOL)
Puppy DVD's
Gorgeous fleecy blankets.
It's wonderful as their stuff is top notch
I have, of course, kept an agility tunnel & weave poles for my dogs hehehe _________________ Gwen.
