Hi,
Beagie has been crate trained since day one of getting him. He goes in it when asked (usually because there is a treat in it for him!) and is happy when in there either when we are in or out, and in the car.
The problem is if we leave the door open when he is free to be in or out it - he pulls his bedding out and runs around the room with it!! I thought if we left the door open he would go in and lie down if he felt like it - instead he's like a child and fights sleep and almost needs to be put in his cage to rest!! Is there a way of leaving the door open and him leaving his bedding in it? Or am I asking too much!!?
Thanks

My beagle, Misty is 12 years old and although she does this less often now, she still occasionally takes out her bed and transports it about the house. She does however see her crate as a place of comfort and peace and goes in it to sleep away from everyone. She loves her crate. Your Beagle will probably calm down a bit and start to sleep or just rest in his crate eventually. _________________ Regards,

this i one thing our two have never done, they don't bother about there bedding, they go to there crate at night when they are told, the rest of the time they will sleep at you feet were ever you are (have tripped over them a good few times in the kitchen when they decide to sleep at the back off you when your at the work top and you step back ) _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk
