|
|
I was giving my dogs a walk and I kicked a white stone. My dog Selphie usually chases them and brings them back. She chased it picked it up and then she seemed to chew and swallow.
She spat out what looked like a small black stone but that wasn't what I kicked and I definately seen her pick up the white stone. It was about the diameter of a £2 coin spherically.
I don't know whether I'm imagining things, she'll pass it or she'll drop like a fly one day with severe pains.
What should I do?

Hi Will,
I would keep an eye on her..watch what she passes and in particular if she has any trouble when doing the toilet..........there is a distinct possibility she will be sick through the night and bring it up..........
Hope she is OK. _________________ John Thomson

I would just keep an eye on her over the next few days. Make sure she continues to eat and poo, and isn't sick.
If she seems off colour or appears constipated I would take her to vet.
We used to get dogs in the surgery all the time that had swallowed stones. Don't do anything silly like giving her stuff to make her sick as this can knock their metabolism out and have worse consequences.
Just a watchfull eye needed. Good luck |

If you do think she has ate it you can give them a very small amount of Soda Crystals to make them sick and they bring it back up, that's what I was told from the vets as Mylo likes to eat everything but that is only because Mylo can't really afford to have another operation for eating things as he didn't come out his last operation well altho confused now just reading thread from Deborah ...... Am sure it will be fine though just keep an eye on her.... Let us know how you get on, fingers crossed she is sick by herself or passes it by herself. |

My dog Rusty eat a big pebble one day, that night he was eating grass and when I asked the vet about eating grass he said it would just be so he could be sick and bring the pebble up.
Hope your dog is ok. |

I was told by the vet never to give the dogs an emetic more than 20 minutes after they had eaten whatever as it would do more harm than good. I would just wait and see. these things usually sort themselves - one end or the other. _________________ Regards,

Sometimes it takes two day to pass or your dog will be sick during the night. When our Kaiser is being sick he just eats it back up again and there is no stopping him he also will show aggression if you approach him.
Our Kaiser as eaten the following:
10 pairs of stocks
Squirrel
Frog
Mouse
Bird
Hair band
Rubber glove: Several ordinary gloves.
Kitchen roll or any form of soft tissues.
Even poo bags with dirt in it.
What a minger. |
