Prey drive for some dogs is an incredibly powerful force and something that is VERY difficult to influence never mind change.
In my opinion the only way you can correct prey drive ( if you would want to) is with an e collar ( something they are trying to ban ..........a dog in 'drive ' that will react to a voice command is rare indeed.
Dogs are carnivores whether we like it or not...........if you bought a rabbit from the butcher and fed it to Jaws ......that would be OK?..........he just cut out the middleman _________________ John Thomson

Are you sure he did catch it himself? i have seen kodi coming out of bushes with a dead bird and we know she definately did't kill it.

I'm not too sure he caught it himself... I didn't hear him chasing after anything... It's possible he just found it. I just saw him proudly trotting towards me with a rabbit. _________________ x

Oh no, I'm not using an e collar on Jaws. I don't have enough experience, and I don't think it's necessary. When I see him chasing after an animal, I call him and he comes back. I'm not even sure if he killed that little rabbit himself or just found a dead one! It was just a bit shocking for me to see him eating it! But you're right: he just cut out the middleman. Anyway I'm sure most of us eat meat as well! _________________ x
