Has anyone any experience of these?
Jodie was plagued with them for years - it got to the stage that we were discussing with the vet the amputation of 2 of her toes because one of them kept recurring even after surgery.
Her general condition began to be affected and when she wore the Elizabethan collar, which was frequently, she got very depressed.
A friend in the medical profession suggested that we try Crysticide cream, available from the chemist. She used it regularly for various things, and said it could do no harm. It is based on hydrogen peroxide which bubbles and excludes oxygen from the wound's surface. We were so desperate we tried it. The persistent cyst cleared up straight away and since then - about 3 years- she has only had one, and that was caused by an embedded grass seed!
The vet was interested enough to make a note of this treatment in case it could help other sufferers - apparently some dogs are just prone to these painful things. _________________ "My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet" - Edith Wharton |

I've never had any experience of that at all Enid. But what is interesting is that the cream worked!!!!
I assume by what you've described, they are pain things? |

If I can find anything I will get back to you. _________________ John Thomson

They take the form of a swelling between the toes - forcing them wide apart. They are extremely painful. Eventually they burst, which gives some relief but, in Jodie's case, just reformed and swelled again. _________________ "My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet" - Edith Wharton |

Terrier types are prone - as a child I had a cairn and she got them from time to time.
Fortunately Jodie is free of them now. Thank god. _________________ "My little dog - a heartbeat at my feet" - Edith Wharton |
