I'm sure she will be feeling out of sorts for a couple of days Amanda, give her time she will probably eat tomorrow. Keep us informed.

Amanda you will notice a big difference in the morning, they seem to pick up more faster than us humans. Take care and see you and Yoda soon.

remember all her organs have been moved about, it will take a day or two for them to find there natural position.
if she hasn't drank since she came home then she wont need to pee. im sure in the morning she will be better and will be ready to drink.
try to relax, the more relaxed you are the better she will feel.
hugs and kiss to you both xxxxxxxxx _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

thanks Kendal. I think i just keep comparing it to humans and its not the same. If one of my patients had this hysterectomy they would not be out of hospital in at least 5 to 7 days. I would have a catheter in monitoring there urine output at least 30ml every hour. The patient would be on a PCA (patient controlled analgesia). I would be able to do OBS (Bp pulse temp) I just feel so out of control. I cant stop checking to make sure the wound is ok. I keep checking her gums in case of bleeding.
I think i am off my head. I could never have children i would be off my head with worry. |

if it's any consolation I worry myself when either of our two ever have anything done.
You being a nurse is probably making it worse though!!!!!!
She will be fine, groggy after the anaesthetic but otherwise she'll be OK I'm sure. |

She will be fine soon, glad the op went ok
When we took the greyhounds to the vets for the retired greyhound trust, the vets there at Clydebank did this op as keyhole and the dogs recovered so much better...im thinking of taking Pixel to them as they are experienced with greyhounds as they react badly to normal anesthetic and need a different one _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

She'll be fine Amanda, but it is more difficult being a nurse, you imagine all the the worst possible scenarios and just can't help comparing the situation to that of human patients (been there, done that, got the whole wardrobe, never mind the T Shirt) but it IS different with dogs, they do bounce back much quicker than humans. Just give her a bit of time and she'll come okay. Lots of love

Hope Yoda is feeling better today and that you are too. I need to get Kai done but am a bit anxious how it will go. She doesn't really do 'relaxing' so I'm worried she could do herself some damage jumping around after an op like that.
Anyway hope things have improved today. |

we were back at the vet today again. I know panic nutter. He said she was fine although she had not weed yet. He did say she lost a lot of blood.
It is so hard trying to get her not to jump up i have given up. All training out of the window. She is being hand fed chicken fillets while sitting on the couch. I slept down stairs with her last night i actually found myself getting up because she wanted to sleep with the pillow.
She is a bit better more like her old self again. She is still being careful herself.
thanks for everyone help i couldn't survive without it. |

Glad she is on the mend Amanda........she will bounce back in no time.......don't be tempted to spoil her too much as she will simply take advantage of it. She will eat when she is hungry. _________________ John Thomson
