Very Happy

Our son logs in at work when he is on night sift and our daughter logs in at work to show people pictures of Buster. Our son said he was on one morning at 5 o'clock and there were other people on the site.

Kendal,
no I didn't think it would take off as it has.......we now have 60 members on the forum..it has only been going 4 months........at the club we have around 60 members who attend.

Lots of the people who contribute to the forum have not yet been to a class.........they might come and think that the club and me are cr*p...........I hope not.

This is a great hobby for me..........if I didn't enjoy it so much I wouldn't do it...I shudder to think how much time Marcella and I have spent....all worth it though.

I'm always open to suggestions as to how the site can be improved.............

have you got your robot text files updated? Have you registered with Yahoo and Google for their webmaster search engine optimisation schemes?

Other things members can do to help...is link drop. If you just post the link all over the net its called spamming, but if you can find any and all opportunities to mention the site to other people via message groups and forums...it helps the search engine rankings.

Also if you don't have a website of your own...and you are on another forum which has a similar set up to this board, you can put the website link to here in your profile. These are usually picked up by search engine spiders too...and again help site ranking

Those stats are looking good John.

We use the same one to see how our website is doing.

Hi Cassandra,

thanks for that.....we now have a robots.txt file uploaded....

I also seem to have stopped all the spammers registering , the email verification had stopped them posting but since I uploaded a 'hack ' to the site they seem to have stopped Very Happy

phpBB boards seem to be particularly susecptable to spammers at the moment. I seen alot of the forums just shut because the owners don't know how to stop em....so well done there!

Its a shame cos the software is really easy to use and most servers offer it as a click here to install rather than having to upload all the files via ftp.

Am a fan of simplemachines at the moment Very Happy
