Today we opened an account with a company called Anglian Meat Products(AMP) who have a local distributor in Cumbernauld.
the web address is www.prizechoice.co.uk
They supply all types of pet food both dry kibble and frozen raw meats ,mince, treats etc. This is the easiest way to get your dog eating a more health raw diet without any hassle.
They supply Pets at Home.
We will be able to buy at their cheapest rate normally only given to dog breeders, the prices are much lower than what the shops charge for the products. There is a minimum spend of £50 to get this rate but I am sure that will not be a problem if some of us group together to order. Food will be collected from the local depot on a Friday afternoon.
This may not be for everyone but please have a look, I will bring price lists up to class on Tuesday. As soon as I have our sign in details for the website I will let everyone know
It may take a little while to get running smoothly.
Let me know your thoughts.

They have some good stuff, when I first started out on BARF I used a lot of the prize choice products. Now we get the Landywoods we don't bother anymore. In fact I found Morrison's to be a great place for buying in food for a BARF diet they have a huge selection of meats suitable for dogs (oxtail, lamb breast, heart, liver, chicken wings, whole chicken etc), and fish, and also sell lamb bones so cheap (15p for a huge pack). |

Hi Laura,
AMP is an easy hassle free way to start feeding dogs a healthy raw diet. No mess, no fuss, hardly any 'forward planning'.
Thank for the tip re Morrison's for bones.............I didn't think any supermarkets sold that type of thing?
You only have to look at the pictures of your dogs to see the benefits of a raw diet! _________________ John Thomson

Yes John I completely agree. Morrison's as far as I know are the only supermarket that sell bones like that, they sell them for stock but the butcher told me 99% of folk who buy them do so for their dogs, you usually get around 15 for twenty or so pence however you need to get there during the day as they are usually always gone by night and the butcher if you ask will just tell you they only have available what they put out. I would call and ask them to keep some by (this is Morrison's in Stirling)/ I got a tip from another BARFER they also sell things like oxtail, lamb breast etc very cheaply. If you go in late at night you can buy the stuff that is almost past its shelf life. That's what we used to do and then freeze it. |
