Hello, hoping someone can help me. I have a 14 month old Lhasa Apso who is just adorable but I am having some trouble with him. He is still biting and mouthing. He also steals things and when I try to get them off him he growls and snaps. With other dogs he is very timid and when people outside clap him its as if butter wouldn't melt but in the house he just goes a bit mad. I don't know what to do. I shout NO and that doesn't stop him. Any help would greatly be appreciated. I brought him to the puppy classes but had to stop as I couldn't attend the Sunday session anymore do you think it would be worthwhile attending classes again as I am now free on Sunday's and I need to do something. |

Sounds as though the dog thinks that it is in charge?
I would use pack order to see if that helps......
When he bites or mouths do you give a physical correction to back up your voice?

It sounds like he has been trying his luck and won a few times.
Our Giles is like that at the moment - Ali lets him off with things and winds him up whereas I try to be strict with him as much as possible.
the age he's at, he'll keep trying to push the boundary. just make sure you are consistent as well as anyone else in the household. _________________ want to see the animals in my life?

Yeh i thought so but I really want to nip it in the bud before it gets any worse as its really annoying when you have people in and he is jumping all over them and nipping them. I think I just need to be firm! Thanks! |
