I think you need to complain to the Animal Health Officer for North Lanarkshire Council. It used to be John Gaffney but I am not sure if he is still there. Go onto the NLC website (under Trading Standards) and the details should be there. I did some voluntary work there with him a couple of years ago and I think he still deals with the licencing of Kennels. If not him then I think the Dog Wardens might have taken over those duties...Trading standards should be able to help though.

He'll be ok but prob very smelly when you get him back.
I'll find out who the correct person is to complain to and post it on the forum so if anyone else has complaints they can too. Even if they don't get shut down if no-one uses them they won't have an option!!! I'll point out about them having the ban before and re-opening under their sons name too |

Got Jack back today. He is thinner than he was before he went in and has got kennel cough. I am going to phone the vet tomorrow and get him checked over. We have given him a bath and lots of TLC. Glad to have him home and he won't be back. |

Sounds to me there's a clear problem at this kennels. I know kennel cough can go with the territory but clearly given the state ALL dogs are coming out in this place needs reporting and inspecting urgently. I would also be attempting a claim under their PL Insurance for the cost of your vets bills!!!! _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

Poor Jack hope he is better soon.
Yes dogs can get kennel cough at boarding kennels, but as Jack says coupled with everything else at these kennels, I would say not good at all _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

Makes me angry too, hearing about this disgraceful kennels!
Just for the record, Sasha caught kennel cough at Crowbank last year. We called to warn them and I was told that no other dog had been reported with it (but you would say that). It's quite distressing when your dog has this.
Hasn't put us off going back there though, these things happen. _________________ Steve Young

Has someone contacted the Dog warden or the council re this Kennels yet? The longer it goes on the more dogs can suffer. Although if people are going away on holiday they will find it difficult to make other kennel bookings. _________________ Regards,

Frankly I'd take one look at this thread and cancel my holiday - NO WAY would I put my pet in there having read all of this. NOT judging those that have but I'm sure you'd not return now you know all of this
If you are PAYING someone to CARE for your much loved pet that's EXACTLY what you expect them to do. I've seen precious little evidence the animals are receiving ANY care at all!!!
I urge you all, especially those who have had dogs in their care and have come out in such a state to report them to the Council licencing, pest control (I'll just BET they have issues with vermin too), RSPCA and anyone else you can think of.
So glad all your pets are home safe now & hopefully will recover quickly from the Kennel Cough.xxxxx _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |
