fab photos kendal.
jd enjoyed himself, he used up so much energy that he's been very quiet since.
Can't believe how relaxed I felt whilst on the walk.
Look forward to next one.

BRILLIANT pictures!!! They obviously ALL had a wonderful time!!!
I am also really impressed to see the use of muzzles as opposed to dogs not partaking or being kept on leash - I have a question about that. I can see clearly one is a basket muzzle (sorry I don't know the dog) but the other (on Luca?) seems to be a soft muzzle - in your experience which is safest and most comfortable for your pooches? I have a soft muzzle for Ella that I am introducing her to but fear on long walks it wouldn't be so good as she can't pant easily when wearing it. Now it's NOT an issue and won't be used unless we're in the company of others and her behaviour dictates it I'd just like a no nonsense balanced response as to what's best and the very best people to ask are those responsible enough to use them when necessary. I want nothing but the best for my babies so figure this is the best place and the best people with whom to raise the question _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |

Thanks for the pictures Kendal.........
Both JD, the shepweiler ( Tico's brother) and Luca wore muzzles, I thought that yesterday they might not have been needed but everything was nice and relaxed because they were.......and they both had a ball. I think it helps educate them that other dogs are fun and not a threat.
JD, Luca, Blaze, Charlie all ran about like mad in the snow......great fun.

Jack, the one luka has on is actually a meshy type one and we got it from the poundshop, granted it was XL lol but I think its better for breathability, the only problem, which I find even with the one from Acornpets ( Mikki maybe not sure) is not long enough for Luka, i feel he could still get a nip in, granted not do the same damage but its something I worry about, tho he seems more settled with it on, as if he knows he cant bite.
I think the basket ones although better for breathe and covering teeth the dogs dont like them the same and they do rub, you need to either buy them with padding or pad then yourselves, they are used mostly for racing greyhounds when out (not racing) but they really needed to be padded we have one for greyhounds but ts too narrow for luka's chops the ones in the petshops are wider than greyhound ones tho.
Kirsty has leather ones that she got from US for Bob and Dodge but they had to be made to measure and im sure pretty expensive, but its whats suits the dogs and they are all different. _________________ lurchers Pixel and Zev and whippet, Fen

Thanks Shirley! I have a Mikki soft one for Ella but it's rubbish - too long and narrow for her squishy adorable little snout.
I think I will also get a basket one for use on walks. She's much easier with other animals now I just want to do the RIGHT thing for all concerned if we go walking with others. I'd never forgive myself (or her really) if something bad happened. Normal walks are fine but I want her to become more social and the ONLY way I can achieve that is by pushing her a bit more each time whilst keeping all safe. I hope not to need them for long _________________ Staffies are my life! Visit us at www.staffies.co.uk |
