At this point we had been walking for almost 2 hours........and that was the hill we were going to climb...that lets you get an idea of the scale of the walk
I would like to thank Lindy, who is now named Lindy anna Jones after the intrepid explorer Indiana Jones, for taking us up and giving everyone the confidence to complete it.
Had any of you known how hard it would be you would probably have wimped out. We all started in high spirits.......and most of us had some low points somewhere along the way but everyone was elated when we reached the top..........from there we could see where we had parked the cars........and it was 'only' an hour and a half away
Everyone who did it you should all feel really proud of yourselves...........because I am certainly proud of all of you _________________ John Thomson

Looks like you were all having fun (even if was a wee bit of whinging about the distance ). The views look fab. Next time lindy organizes a walk double the time then that will be about right! |

It was overcast most of the time Kendal, not much wind. But it felt cold anytime we stopped except once when the sun shone when we rested at the foot of the Meikle Bin before we began climbing. |

No debbie, hobbled along for the sunday walk and folks commenting that Dodge was still filthy - yip he did have fun - it seems the dirtier he gets the more fun he has little darling
When lindsay saw that photo he nearly had a fit, he has never seen him in the raw so to speak, I alway try to clean him up a bit before I take him home as lindsay gives me hell for letting him get dirty and asks very stupid questions like 'how can you let him get like that' Dodge can smell dirt a mile off. Kaiser was probably just as dirty but you cannot see it on him (well telling myself I am not the only owner of a 'pigpen' makes me feel better)
got myself a bottle of port when I was in tesco and just about to do in a huge chunk of stilton, some grapes, some tuc crackers and oatcakes - but made lentil soup to kid myself on that im a wee bit healthy |

Thats sound quite nice Kirsty and the only really bad thing is the stilton the rest is pretty low in calories and actually quite healthy food, anyway after all your walking you should enjoy your fav foods. |
