Bigbird would be completely embarrassed if he knew I had posted this totally undignified picture of him. He is feather picking at the moment due to suffering separation anxiety from me of all people Shocked He has a collar on but has still managed to get round this to pick the top of his shoulders, so I have cut up an old sock and he is now wearing this as well, like a little jumper.

He is only 2 and a half years old Kirsty I have had him since he was 12 weeks old and he is totally hand tame and wont leave my side, hand reared birds do tend to suffer from feather picking though and it is heartbreaking to watch, he does it right in front of me because he knows I will react. I know I shouldn't but it is hard not to. He is on medication similar to Prozac but this has affected his personality as he hardly ever speaks now whereas you could never get him to shut up beforehand. Hoping this will return soon once his medication stops. Crying or Very sad

He is lovely, Steven.

He sounds like an intelligent, if stressed, fellow.

Stevie - that is heartbreaking.

what a clever bird though to know he can manipulate you through his self harming behaviour.

I hope he sorts it out soon. must be hard cause there is no 'john' to ask as I bet there are not so many people expert in sorting out bird behavior problems

good luck - Crying or Very sad

John ... how long is a piece of string, because of his change in personality due I presume to the drugs he is on I intend to finish this course of treatment and not continue with the mind altering drugs but persist with the collar and sock treatment. Hopefully this will break the habit which has only been going on for 3.5 months, once his feathers have grown back I will remove theses and see how he gets on. I know some birds never stop, but I would rather have a happy bird who still chats away and is content but has unfortunately developed a habit that he just wont give up. A bit like an addiction I'm afraid.

Yep he does Marcella in my voice I'm afraid... " big bad doggie, big bad Kaiser" " good morning" " got to go to work" wolf whistles mimics the telephone ringing twice then answers it "hello" and then hangs up Sings who's afraid of the big bad wolf. One thing he does say that he got from Brenda is "your a Jobby" usually at the top of his voice. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Awww he is lovely, didnt know you had a grey, wait till Allan sees this he will be at your door. We had a pair of Timnehs for awhile, not hand reared, breeders birds.
Allan has kept some sort of bird since he was 7 yrs old. We have none at the moment
