silly topic, but just wondering if anyone has seen any "crossbreed" puppies for sale under funny names? i have just heard of rotladors for sale, rotties and labs hehe (ps £250)

well some neighbours of mine have a jacksh1t Laughing

and Marcella and I might end up with some Jack shepards if my JRT Lizzy does not stop sticking her butt in Diesel's face, she also quite likes a Boxer so I suppose she could have some Jack in the Boxes Laughing

and then there is Jackadoodles. My other half cousins have a Yorkie cross Bishon but not sure what the breeder said it was...whatever it was an excuse to charge a fortune for a non breed!!!!! Evil or Very Mad

I fear that much of these funny cross breeds are taken advantage of by people wanting to make easy money

Never mind that ................ we nearly had Jack Shepherds on the way when Murphy tried to mount Lindys JRT Dora!!!!!!!!! Very Happy

thing is, labradoodles were bred for a specific reason, to enable blind people with allergies to be able to have a guide dog, but it seems a bit crazy now!

At Irvine it was Lizzie sticking her butt in Diesel's face ............. she did it again tonight up the glen she LOVES him! Laughing

But Dora was just coming out of season when Murphy's testosterone got the better of him ............ even after a 4 hour climb to the summit he still had enough energy for a bit of action! Embarassed

In short, Lizzie is nothing less than a tart ................ and Murphy is a typical man who just tried to get his rocks off!

The fact that people will buy dogs such as "Labradoodles" is beyond me. If i'm right, they are being sold at around £700-£800. The folk who buy these dogs are foolish, in my opinion. There are plenty of crossbreed dogs in rescue centres all around the UK, they could consider rehoming one of them and calling it a name of whatever they look to be crossed with!

I think it is absolutely ludicrous that crossbreeds such as "Labradoodles" are being sold for such a ridiculous price when, in fact, they are only crossbreeds, albeit "designer" ones. I think it's a fad and a con.

In my Roxy's case, she's either a "Basippet" or a "Basollie"! Laughing

Or, perhaps, a "Barussell". Rolling Eyes

I seen an advert during the week for "Scotwest" puppies for sale, it angered me a lot - it did not mention the price, but I would expect it to be something totally obcene. I am still thinking of phoning up to enquire to see how much they are being sold for. Perhaps someone's Scottie got out the garden and mated with next doors Westie, then some idiot though up the name "Scotwest" and decided to sell them - I would not be surprised. Rolling Eyes

I suppose that as long as the dogs are healthy and are cared for, that's what matters most, but it still does not excue the fact that people are selling and buying these "designer" crosses for hundreds of pounds, in my opinion.

The "doodle" craze has a lot to answer for! Mad

And the thing is, "Labradoodles" were bred in Australia in the seventies as dogs for the disabled. It's nothing but a crazy fad over here and all they are is "designer" crossbreeds.

Labradoodles were bred for a genuine purpose which I can completely understand. But it is obvious that the fashion of having a hybrid has taken off and some breeders see it purely as a moneyspinner.
But personally I just like dogs........... regardless of what they are called.

I have absolutely no problems with cross breeds..........infact some of my most favorite dogs are.

Only one causes me a BIG problem.........wolf hybrids where a wolf is crossed with a domestic dog......often a Malamute or other sled dog...........for me this is a step too far Crying or Very sad
